Jewelry Care

A little care keeps your pieces looking their best. Put jewelry on last, after perfume, lotion and hairspray, and take it off first.

Everyday wear

  • Take your jewelry off before swimming, showering, bathing, exercising or cleaning.
  • Keep it away from perfume, hairspray, lotions, sunscreen and household chemicals.
  • Remove rings and bracelets before washing your hands or working with your hands.
  • After wearing, wipe each piece gently with a soft, dry, lint-free cloth.

Storing your jewelry

  • Store each piece separately in its gift box or a soft pouch so it doesn't scratch or tangle.
  • Keep jewelry somewhere cool and dry, away from direct sunlight and humidity (not in the bathroom).
  • Fasten necklace clasps before storing to prevent tangles.

Cultured freshwater pearls

  • Pearls are soft and need gentle care: last on, first off.
  • Wipe them with a soft, slightly damp cloth after wearing, then let them dry flat before storing.
  • Never use jewelry cleaners, ultrasonic cleaners, steam or brushes on pearls.
  • Store pearls flat and on their own. Avoid sealed plastic bags for long periods, as pearls need a little air.

Lab-created moissanite

  • To bring back the sparkle, soak the piece briefly in warm water with a drop of mild soap, then brush gently with a soft toothbrush.
  • Rinse in clean water and dry thoroughly with a soft cloth.
  • Don't use this method on pieces that also include pearls.

Plated finishes

Gold-tone and plated finishes wear with time and friction. Keeping them dry and away from chemicals, and storing them separately, helps them last longer. The finish of each piece is listed on its product page.
